WHAT IS EARTHBOUND
Earthbound is an upcoming ecovillage and think tank for rural community - and regenerative living in Southern Sweden. We are creating a community of 30 people stewarding 73 ha of land with a lake, ancient forest and 9 buildings.
We are hosting a Bed & Breakfast and a cultural centre for a regenerative transformation. Our aim is to play a key part in the transition to a future that is sustainable, local and holistic.

THE PLACE
- Located in the creative rural area of 'Glasriket' in Southern Småland, the historical 300-year old estate of 'Grimsnäs Herrgard' is the home of Earthbound Ecovillage
- EarthboundWe is continuing the heritage of Grimsnäs Herrgaard while giving it new life and purpose.
LAND
- 73 ha (~100 football fields) of diverse landscape including ancient forests, grazing lands, fields, a lake, and wetland
- Swimming lake with an island
- Own water source with high-quality purification system
- Biodiverse forest with ancient oak and hazel trees
- Part of the forest is under nature protection laws

BUILDINGS
- 7 well-maintained, solid wood (log) buildings and a large barn (45x10 m)
- 3 buildings are renovated & ready-to-move-in houses with:
- 18 furnished bedrooms
- 25 - 30 beds
- 750 m² total area
- Buildings are as old as 270 years and mostly wood-heated
- We will take over the already established award-winning Bed & Breakfast business 'Grimsnäs Herrgaard'

THE PEOPLE
In due time, Earthbound ecovillage will be the home of 30 adults. We are currently 6 founders - all deeply inspired by communities and regenerative initiatives around the world. Meet the founding group here.
Samson Flohr
Samson is a nature enthusiast and the finance lead of Earthbound. He has co-founded and contributed to numerous events and festivals across Europe. Passionate about driving meaningful change, Samson focuses on developing impactful projects that promote both environmental stewardship and social well-being. He invites you to explore new ways of living and thinking, while questioning the status quo and deepening our sense of trust and community.
Dicte Frost
Dicte is the project manager and grant writer of Earthbound. With a background in political sciences, Dicte has worked as a festival and project manager for the last 7 years. She has visited more than 50 eco-community projects around Europe and worked for the European Ecovillage Network for the last 4 years. Dicte is skilled in project development and oversight, fundraising, and leading collaborative groups.
Emma Skov Thorsted
Emma is an educated and experienced
facilitator and trauma informed body-therapist. She has guided big
social-justice organisations and communities on journeys of connection
while nurturing spaces where grief and
pleasure co-exist to foster regenerative
transformation. Amongst many flavours she’s a truth-teller, relational-weaver, and mythopoetic enthusiast drawn to practices of sacred activism for all beings while telling the story that we are nature.
Benja Bartholomai
Benja is the carpenter and practical force of Earthbound with a diverse educational and professional background in model making, electrical work, and carpentry. For the past four years, Benja has run his own carpentry company, specializing in interior builds, renovations, and custom cabinet building. His dedication to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail has established him as a trusted name in the industry.
Zuzanna Bączyk
Zuzanna is the creative visionary of Earthbound, bringing over a decade of experience in ceramics, graphic design, and analog photography. She leads the onboarding process for new inhabitants and fosters open communication within the community. In addition to her role at Earthbound, Zuzanna manages the B&B bridge business and has led housekeeping teams for courses and festivals with over 800 people.
Kasper Fiscella
Kasper brings a rich and varied background to Earthbound, combining a BA in Religion, Philosophy, and Ethics from KCL with three years at Kaospilots. With a passion for languages and socio-political experience, he will rise tocoordinate Earthbound’s agricultural efforts, eager to deepen in the practical as well as theoretical aspects of co-sufficiency. His frank communication style and organizational drive makes him a key force in shaping Earthbound’s regenerative future.
OUR MODEL
We'e introducing a new model for communities in Scandinavia to own and govern together. Our format shapes a strong, ethical financial and legal structure based on "community logic". Designed to be easy to replicate, it paves the way for future community-led initiatives. You can read about the key aspects of our model below.
NON PROFIT, NON SPECULATIVE
All income is reinvested in the project, investments have a social and environmental return (rather than financial), and we have taken the real estate out of the speculative housing market.
